We make gates for estate entrances, fields, driveways and pedestrian routes. Every Albion timber gate is traditionally constructed with mortise-and-tenon joints, secured with timber dowels. If you know the opening size, send it over. If not, we can explain what needs to be measured.
Product range
Opening width, frequency of use, ground levels and hanging arrangements all affect how a gate should be built and specified. These points are settled before the timber and ironmongery are ordered.
Our traditional five-bar field gate, manufactured to order in oak with mortise-and-tenon joints and timber dowels. Posts and ironmongery can be specified with the gate.
Starting price based on: 4ft (approximately 1,220 mm) wide and approximately 900 mm high; supply only.
A pedestrian gate for estate paths, gardens and access points, made to the required width with exterior ironmongery selected for the gate.

A more complex estate entrance gate with matched curved components, developed and priced individually around the opening, ground levels and required ironmongery.
Oak posts, hinges, latches, stops and associated components specified for a new gate or compatible replacement installation.
Before manufacture
A well-proportioned gate still needs sufficient clearance, sound posts and ironmongery suited to its weight. Replacement work also needs an honest assessment of anything being retained.
Materials & construction
Every Albion timber gate is made with mortise-and-tenon joints, secured with timber dowels. British oak is preferred where the specification, availability and application justify it. European oak or a suitable durable softwood may be proposed where it offers a better technical or commercial fit. The quotation identifies the proposed timber, origin, ironmongery, fixings and finish.
